Boarding FAQs

What does my dog stay in while boarding?

Our kennel is designed to give your dog a comfortable space while boarding with us. Your dog will stay in an indoor/outdoor run that is 4x6 on the inside and 8x12 on the outside. You are more than welcome to stop by and take a tour during our regular business hours.

Is someone in the kennel 24/7?

Although we do not have someone in the kennel 24/7, we do have residents living on property.

Does my dog get play time while boarding?

Yes! Whether your dog is friendly with other dogs or not, your dog will get play time. If friendly with other dogs, your dog will get playtime in our play yard and water park if in season. Our main play yard includes an inground pool and splash pad with sprinklers for all friendly dogs to play in during the warm months! Our small dog yard includes small kiddy pools and a sprinkler! If your dog prefers alone play, we will do individual play with a kennel worker for your dog.

Do you offer boarding for animals other than dogs and cats?

We offer boarding for small animals as well! Take a look at the information on small animal boarding.

What vaccinations does my pet need to come to Sterling Meadows?

In order to bring your pet, we will need records of the Distemper, Rabies and Bordetella for your dog. For your cat, we will need records of the Feline Distemper or Feline Leukemia and the Rabies. You may text, email or bring your records to us.

What should I bring my pet when they go to board?

You may bring your own food or we can use ours, either way there is no additional charge. Our food is chicken based and not grain free. If that will upset your dog's stomach, we recommend you bringing your own food. Other than that, we will provide all bedding, blankets, toys and bowls.

What do you provide for my pet while boarding?

We provide all blankets, raised cots, toys and bowls for your pet while boarding. We ask that you do not bring any of these belongings. We can provide our food or you may bring your own. If you are boarding a small animal, please contact us for what to bring.

Do you separate the small dogs from the large dogs for play time?

Yes! We separate the large and small dogs for play time. We have multiple play yards available for group play.

How do you know all the dogs in the play group get along?

All dogs are evaluated to ensure they are friendly with dogs and people before being turned loose in a group. The dogs are constantly supervised and can be pulled in from the play group if any sign of aggression occurs.

Do you offer any discounts off boarding?

We offer a 5% cash discount and a 5% military (active/veteran) or first responder discount off the boarding rates.

Do you offer any long term boarding?

Yes! Long-term boarding covers 30 nights and we recommend that over daily to any boarding over 20+ nights. Please check out our monthly rates here or contact us for more information.

Do you have holiday hours?

We are closed for all major holidays to the public for boarding, bathing/grooming and daycare but our staff will be here caring for all boarding animals like a regular work day! Major Holidays include: New Years day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas(24th-26th). We close at 4pm on New Years Eve.

Daycare FAQs

What does the daycare evaluation entail?

When you bring your dog for the daycare evaluation, our kennel worker will make sure your dog is first friendly with them and our other workers. Then, we will take your dog into our play yard on a leash. We are simply making sure that your dog is friendly with other dogs and people for the safety of your dog and the others. For more information check our our doggy daycare.

Can my dog come for daycare if he/she is not spayed/neutered?

If your dog has not been before, we will first need to do an evaluation. If he/she passes the evaluation they are welcome to come even if not spayed or neutered. However, if your dog begins to mount the other dogs or show dominance we will ask that he/she is spayed/neutered before returning for daycare. In heat females can not be in group play.  We do not do evaluations on any bully breeds over the age of 1 years old.

What happens if my dog fails the evaluation?

If your dog does not pass the evaluation, your dog is still more than welcome to board with us and we will do individual playtime and walks.

Do you offer any monthly packages for daycare?

Yes! Our monthly packages can be viewed here. Please note that the daycare packages must be used within the month purchased, unused days do not roll over.

What vaccinations does my dog need to come for daycare?

In order to bring your pet, we will need records of the Distemper, Rabies and Bordetella for your dog. You may text, email or bring your records to us.

Do you separate the small dog and large dogs for play time?

Yes! We separate the large and small dogs for play time. We have multiple play yards available for group play.

My dog has boarded but not been for daycare specifically, does my dog still need evaluated?
